Doing What’s Needed
Both on campus and off, we are a group of women dedicated to helping raise awareness for women's heart health research and funding. We recognize that as women, our philanthropic cause hits closer to home. The Delta Rho Chapter is dedicated to making a lasting impact through our philanthropy events and campus programs. Learn more about our initiatives both on and off campus!
RED DRESS GALA
A gala held in the fall where family and Alumnae are invited to return to the greater Indianapolis area for a silent auction, dinner, guest speakers and music.
In 2019, we raised over $14,500 for women's heart health! This was double what we raised in 2018! All proceeds are given to the Alpha Phi Foundation.
This event is a male talent show held at Emen's Auditorium in February! We raise money for Women's Heart Health and search for our new "Mr. Phi." Not to mention the winning contestant receives $500!!!!
In 2020, 8 men from all parts of Ball State's campus (Greek life, athletics, clubs, etc.) competed to win our hearts over - the judges have the final say, however!
This year at Mr. Phi, we raised a total of $6,633.74! A huge thanks to everyone that donated and came to the event!
Alpha Cup is our newest philanthropy that is held during the fall semester. The past two years, we have paired with Alpha Tau Omega for this event.
Each sister organizes a team of five individuals. A bracket is created, and teams compete against one another until there is a champion. In 2019, the winning team won Pacers tickets!
THE ALPHA PHI FOUNDATION
WHY WE WORK SO HARD TO DO WHAT WE DO
In 1956, Alpha Phi was one of the first women’s fraternities to establish a Foundation as a trust to award grants specifically for scholarship and cardiac aid. Today, the original priorities of Alpha Phi Foundation remain in our five vital programs:
Supporting programs that help women grow in leadership
Providing scholarships to undergraduate and graduate students
Supporting research and education essential for promoting heart health
Helping sisters in need with Forget Me Not assistance grants
Preserving more than a century’s worth of milestones in women’s history through our heritage program
The Foundation is well known and respected internationally as a prominent philanthropic leader in the Greek community.
